In his role as a composer, Nathan Howe has written vocal solos for the church, choral music for the university, piano music for video and hymns for God. His music touches many styles, but the common theme is a passion for beautiful performance. When it comes to songwriting, he is not a theoretician; he says, "For music to influence the heart, which is our ostensible goal, it has to be accessible to both the musicians and the audience. We should not dumb it down, but we must write for performance."

Beyond placing music on paper, Nathan Howe is also a prolific performer. As a vocalist, he was trained in the classical style at the University of Northern Colorado. He has sung in men's and mixed choirs, a cappella groups, pop/rock projects, and religious concerts. While singing, he often accompanies himself on the piano. As a conductor, he has directed various Church choirs and smaller ensembles. As a pianist, he plays for church and community events.
